Do you own a vehicle designed for going off road? Getting off of the highway and driving across a beach, mountain range, or trail path can be quite exhilarating. But it's important for you to be prepared before heading out on any off-road trip. There are a variety of off-road vehicle accessories and add-ons available today, but here are three of the most important items that every off-road vehicle owner should own.

Off Road LED Light Bar

If you are planning on doing some off roading at night or through a darkened forest, you're going to want to make sure that your path is properly illuminated at all times. Being able to see every bump in the road is obviously important, but another reason you might want to get a light bar installed is because it makes it easier for other people to see you. Most LED light bars are designed to be especially bright and will make your vehicle much easier to spot than with just headlights alone. That could make all the difference if there is another vehicle coming towards you behind that curve up ahead.

Mobile Air Compressor/Deflator

Off-road vehicle tires can handle a lot of abuse, but you still need to keep an eye on the air pressure just like you would for any other vehicle. In fact, it may be best to inflate or deflate your tires based on the type of terrain that you are traveling on. A tire deflator can quickly remove air from your tires and help you get more traction on terrain such as sand or rocks. Once you make it back to a standard trail, you are going to want your tires to be more inflated again. A mobile air compressor or a quick deflator can help you accomplish these tasks.

Traction Ramps

While off-road vehicles are built to make it through some pretty tricky terrain, it's likely that your vehicle will get stuck somewhere at least once during its lifetime if you frequently take trips off the beaten path. If you are worried about getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere, one item you will want to make sure you keep in your trunk is a set of traction ramps. These devices can be inserted underneath a stuck tire with the goal of providing some traction so you can get back on the road. That's a much easier and cheaper option than having to call a tow truck company to come out to the middle of nowhere to pull you out.

If you own or are considering buying an off-road vehicle, make sure you are prepared for the road ahead. Items like an LED light bar, a mobile air compressor, and a set of traction ramps can go a long way towards ensuring you stay safe out on the rocky road.
